Implantation bleeding is light spotting that can occur when a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining, typically 6–12 days after conception. It often appears as light pink or brown discharge, resembling the flow of typical vaginal discharge more than a menstrual period. Unlike menstrual bleeding, it is usually not heavy and does not contain clots. The bleeding is typically light in flow and should not soak through a pad. It usually lasts from a few hours to a couple of days, making it distinct from a regular period, which lasts longer and involves heavier bleeding. |
